Next trip 13 – 24 September 2025    Singing teacher Nicole Murray

Trip Structure

The trip will be structured around singing workshops, including local singers, with our singing tutor Nicole Murray on most days and some informal singing sessions.  We’ll tour the historic town of Briancon and find some ancient churches to sing in.  There will also be plenty of time for walking and exploring this beautiful region.  Walks from 1-3 hours or more depending on your interest will be guided by Jo and Dave.  On a couple of days the walk will be the feature with lunch out at a mountain auberge or a picnic.

The Singing

Nicole delights in working with you on making harmonies, blending voices and getting to know your own voice better. She chooses and arranges songs from the folk traditions of Australia, Britain and Ireland, and from other harmony traditions, to immerse us all in delicious chords and rhythms, and satisfying music. Many of the songs are in English, with some forays into Latin, Italian, Scots Gaelic and appropriately on this trip, French!
